Gothicism

In music, Gothicism plays a big roll for some of Rock and Roll, Metal and Punk. Wearing studded shirts and belts with heavy eye makeup and dark clothing. Usually bats and other dark scary creatures are used to show the Gothicism traits for the music. Usually performing on staged that look like old churches that have gothic elements to make the show look more eerie. The music goes very well with the look because it is usually really loud and makes your heart pound.
After seeing music shows that use gothic elements I researched more and found Hot Topic, a store that sells band apparel and jewelry. Many people wear gauges and plugged that goes with the overall style of Gothicism.
To me, the look of gothic makes you look super human or death like. Dying your hair really dark, wearing dark makeup and lipstick and wearing big black crosses. All of this refers back to the concept of Gothicism. Why do people dress this way? I think people dress like this merely to show the kind of lifestyle they are fitting into and that genre.
Because of all of the Gothicism in music, fashion plays a big roll of showing Gothicism as well. Using the styles that people wear in these punk rock metal bands and using dark and harsh light, fashion magazines show the culture with dark images making the models show grunge and darkness. These trends have been going on since the 60s and 70s when rock and roll was very popular because it transformed into many different groups.

Showing Gothicism in fashion has made the music and lifestyle even more popular and makes more people want to dress and be apart of the gothic culture. Will the gothic style die? I cant answer this question myself but if I tried to answer it, I would have to say that because of fashion, music and the culture behind it, Gothicism cant really die. It has been made a lifestyle and it is just like every other fashion statement, it has icons that back it up and make people want to live the same way.
